            1 mo hospital based internal medicine
            2 mo ambulatory internal medicine
            1 mo internal medicine_ cardiology
            2 mo ambulatory surgery
            1 mo ambulatory ob/gyn
            1 mo emergency medicine
            1 mo hospital based pediatrics
            1 mo ambulatory pediatrics
            2 mo electives

Year 2:
            1 mo ambulatory internal medicine
            2 mo ambulatory surgery
            2 mo ambulatory ob/gyn
            1 mo ambulatory pediatrics
            1 mo emergency medicine
                 5 mo electives

Specialty training is provided by specialists in private practice at IRMC.  Cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, gastroenterology, neurology, infectious disease, hematology and oncology all have teaching services at Ingham.  Endocrinology and rheumatology rotations are not based in the hospital.  These and other electives can be done in private physicians’ offices on an outpatient basis.
