This program offers exposure to high volume and broad range of surgical cases including GI, onclolgic, advanced laparoscopy, endocrine, vascular, critical care and trauma.  First year emphasis is placed on developing good surgical skills and patient care.  Second and third year residents responsibilities progress accordingly both in the operating room and in hospital wards.  Out rotations at tertiary centers are encouraged during these years.  Senior residents are charged with running the various services with the attending surgeon as well as taking an active role in training junior residents.  Regular tumor conferences, lectures and seminars are essential to a progressive program.
