Dr. Reisdorff is a practicing emergency physician and the Director of Medical Education at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan. He has been practicing in the Lansing area for the past 14 years. He is also a faculty member for the Michigan State University Emergency Medicine Residency and a past Program Director.

Dr. Reisdorff attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, graduating in 1984. He did his residency training in emergency medicine in 1987 at the Michigan State Program.

Earl has accumulated numerous awards. He is a charter member of the Michigan State University Chapter of the medical honorary Alpha Omega Alpha. Other teaching awards include: Emergency Medicine Teaching Award 1988, 1991, 1994 (Michigan State University Emergency Medicine Residency), the "Floppy Award" for outstanding contributions to resident research projects 1989 (Michigan State University Emergency Medicine Residency), American College of Emergency Physicians – National Teaching Award 2000, and the 2001 Excellence in Teaching Award (Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association of Michigan).

Dr. Reisdorff is also active with the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He received an appointment as an Oral Board Examiner in 1994, and became a question writer for the certifying examination in 1999. Activities with the American College of Emergency Physicians are both educational and administrative. Dr. Reisdorff is the National Education Representative for Region 7 (1999-2002). He was elected to the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians Board of Directors in 1998. This is a position in which he continues to serve.

Dr. Reisdorff has lectured extensively throughout the United States as well as the People’s Republic of China. His presentations have been heard at the Scientific Assembly of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians and at the annual national ACEP Scientific Assembly. As a leader in graduate medical education, he has also lectured for the Association for Hospital Medical Education in Washington, D.C. He has numerous scientific presentations for his research efforts in the United State and Europe.

Dr. Reisdorff has a keen academic interest that led him to be a reviewer for Annals of Emergency Medicine, Academic Emergency Medicine, and Emergency Medicine Reports. He is co-editor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine (a 1150 page text) and Emergency Radiology (a core text in emergency radiology). He has edited three issues of Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America. He has numerous publications including material in the Journal of the American Medical Association, American Heart Journal, Annals of Emergency Medicine, Academic Emergency Medicine, Journal of Emergency Medicine, Academic Medicine, and Emergency Medicine Reports. He has chapters published in various EM topics in five different emergency medicine texts including the Study Guide in Emergency Medicine.
